It’s the FINAL COUNTDOWN! You have done the hard work finding the perfect venue, selecting the perfect color palette and gathering all of your loved ones. The next 7 days are about tightening up the details and celebrating love. Here are the things to focus on the week of your wedding!
Prioritize Self Care
First thing’s first, this is your week, so prioritize yourself before your big day! Plan a day with your bridesmaids to get your mani/pedis done together. Treat yourself, but be sure to avoid trying new skin care techniques this week. Maybe plan a well deserved spa day for you and your partner but opt for a massage rather than a facial! Teeth whitening, waxing and extensions should all be done in advance.
Have Wedding Attire Ready
Try on your dress carefully one last time with your shoes and accessories before sending it to the steamer. Don’t forget about your partner’s attire too! Get your jewelry cleaned. Keep the finished garments zipped and hung in a special place until the big day.
Finalize Details
Make sure that your bridesmaids and groomsmen know where to be and when. Compile an itinerary for each person in your wedding party with all pertinent information for the day- rehearsal location and time, getting ready location, special photo times, etc. Hint: Make it one page so they can screenshot it for easy access :) Your wedding planner will reiterate meeting places and times during your rehearsal.
Make your final payments and gather gratuities. Most vendors require final payment when final counts are submitted one or two weeks prior. Your wedding planner will be more than happy to distribute the gratuities for you to take that item off your plate.
Gifts
If you and your SO are exchanging gifts during your wedding weekend, make sure to wrap them up! If you have gifts for parents, wedding party or other VIP's, now is the time to get this all finalized.
Organize & Pack
Gather all of your wedding decor (centerpieces, name cards, signs, etc.) and organize it into labeled boxes. This will make set-up a breeze and ensure you are not forgetting anything. This is now the time to gather your gifts for your parents, family members, and favors for guests. Hand off some items for others to be responsible for: Give your marriage license to your officiant, give your rings to the Best Man and Maid of Honor, give your wedding planner the decor/special items.
You probably should have packed for your honeymoon by now, but double check for essential items! You don’t want to forget your custom ‘Mrs’ jean jacket :)
Relax!
You’ve been planning this wedding non-stop for months now. Take a deep breath and relax, you rocked it! Make sure you and your partner are taking the time to enjoy this process. Plan for some one-on-one time before the big day to reflect on your love and your journey together.
